Vittoria Capresi is Associate Professor for History of Art and Architecture at the German University in Cairo (since 2011). Of Tuscan origins, studies between Florence and Berlin, where she moves in 1999. From 2002 till 2011 she works as university assistant at the Vienna Univesity of Technology, department of History of Architecture and Building Archaeology, with researching and teaching assignments. In 2007 achieved her PhD with a dissertation about the architecture of the newly grounded  rural villages built in Libya during the Italian occupation. She coordinated many workshops in Europe and abroad on themes connected to building / urban survey and the actual interpretation of “political” architecture and urban spaces. She is now working on a guide about Modern Architecture in Downtown Cairo.
