Aysill Yavuz is professor of Architecture at METU in Ankara (Turkey). In 1966 she get the Certificate on Conservation of Monuments UNESCO at Rome Center for the Preservation of Cultural Property (ICROM). In 1967 she get the Diploma in Conservation at Scuola di Perfezionamento per lo Studio ed il Restauro dei Monumenti (Faculty of Architecture, University of Rome "La Sapienza"). In 1971 she get the Certificate in Conservation at the Institute of Advanced Studies (Faculty of Architecture, York University, UK). In 1983 she get a Ph.D. in Conservation at  Faculty of Architecture in Istanbul Technical University.

Since 1988 she is  Professor at the Faculty of Architecture, Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey. Since 1997 she is Member of the Cultural Heritage Committee of Turkish UNESCO

 

Main research field: Design in restoration, historic structural systems, history of architecture in the Middle East.
